Prague cultural and Nightlife

Prague is a city where it’s absolutely impossible to get bored thanks to its enormously active cultural life. Besides the monuments there are many galleries with permanent and temporary exhibitions. The National Gallery has impressive collections divided in many departments around the city center. Music has a great importance for Czech people: a Czech proverb asserts that each Czech is a musician. We can find musicians of excellent talent in every music style. During your walks you will receive many many leaflets advertising the classic music concerts of the day. It will be a difficult choice!

During the day, especially during the cold season I would suggest a cultural-relaxing pause in one of the many Cafeterias of the city:

U Zeleného Čaje Nerudova 19 Malá Strana Prague 1
Small and pleasant tearoom with a wide choice of teas. Here was filmed Amadeus.

Jo’s Bar Malostranské Náměstí 7 Malá Strana Prague 1
The first pub opened by Americans after the Velvet revolution of 1989. International atmosphere and cuisine. Good meeting place for young people.

Malostranská Kavárna Malostranské Náměstí 5 Malá Strana Prague 1
Once was one of Kafka’s favourite places but at that time it was Radetzky café

Café Europa Václavské Náměstí 25 Wenceslaw Square Prague 1
Inside you will find a very well preserved Art Deco interior. Don’t miss the Façade of the Hotel! It’s a very good example of Prague Art Deco.

Café Slávia Smetanovo Nábřeží 2 Staré Město Prague 1
It’s next to the National Theatre and it’s a meeting point both for the audience and for the artists after the shows.

Kavárna Obecní Dům Náměstí Republiky 5 Staré Město Prague 1
It’s inside the most important Art Deco monument in Prague: The Municipal House
